My son is a very average size and quite lean, and when this 18 month jacket arrived around his 16th month, it was already more or less too small. Way too short, too tight to have anything but a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath. He's still wearing many of his 12 month things, so I think this is an issue with their sizing. We are very disappointed.I would use the age bracket as the MAXIMUM age it would fit a child and not the average or minimum. It seems well made and warm. My son is 7 months old. He is just over 20 pounds, so a bigger kid. He fits comfortably in Carter's 9 month clothing. I had read the reviews that said this coat runs small, so I ordered him an 18 month size for this coming fall. I got the coat today, and it fits him fine now. Honestly, I can't say if it will fit him in 2-3 months when it starts getting chilly. I hope it does, but who knows. But the point is, there is no way this is a true 18 months size. There's no way it's even a 12 month size. I would say it's more 9 month. You are going to want to size up at least one, maybe even 2 if your kid is on the higher end of the charts. I wish I had gone ahead and ordered the 24 months. |
