1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Good value for money. Not the best, but am overall satisfied., By PCM (Arizona) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: High Sierra 2.0 Liter Reservoir (Sports) Good points:- Neoprene cover on hose keeps water from freezing or warming too much - Teat system is clean and easy to use, and dispenses the need for a hand movement to open/close Things I wish were better: - Some anchor point to easily hold bladder wide open in order not to spill water while filling it - Another anchor point to be able to hang it inside my backpack 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Great value for the price, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: High Sierra 2.0 Liter Reservoir (Sports) I was sick of carrying bottles of water into the field when I am hunting. My backpack has a bladder pocket so I took the plunge and tried this one out. It was at a great price and much cheaper then I could find at my local outdoor store. This fit great in my smaller backpack that I take turkey, deer and small game hunting.Pros: - strong construction - hose is insulated to keep water from freezing / warming in the tube. - insulation on hose will protect hose from being punctured - Works fantastic - Bite portion of hose seems to be better then some others I have tried. Cons: - Blue color hose is undesirable for turkey hunting - Tastes like rubber the first time. Clean it out and then soak it in baking soda to remove taste. Overall great bladder. It does the job and is heavy duty. My only issue is the horrible taste, but that went away after a day long soaking. I have no idea why these things have to taste so... I noticed that I still didn't drink as much as I should have, but I did drink more. It was much easier to sip from a nozzle without having to remove my pack or contort myself to reach a bottle.Bladders are hard to clean, and that is the only unfortunate thing. They must be taken apart, cleaned thoroughly, and be completely dry before storing to last. I really don't mind doing that but having to look at the water bladder parts hanging in my bathroom for days after a trip is kinda weird. My pack has a pouch for up to three liters and this fit just fine. My back up bladder I stored in the middle of my pack. No leaks. I also used these in temperatures right around freezing and had no trouble. |
