Now that I have it I can say it far exceeded them.I did do quite a lot of reading on various forums dedicated to tactical flash lights as well as watching a lot of video reviews on this and many other similar lights. The features on Klarus XT11 were exactly what I was looking for. Affordable, small, light weight, mil spec, waterproof, very bright high setting, strong middle setting and energy efficient low setting for long run times. The primary button for cycling modes and a separate strobe button are very convenient and intuitive. Also, it fits well in my 1 inch ring for weapon mounting. The other hardware features are not so important to me. Such as the anti roll ring, lanyard and crenelated bezel. But, they are nice additions. I confess, I am a total "flashlight geek." Having reliable light is, to me an absolute essential. Like a lot of technology these days, LED technology is advancing at quantum rates - simply amazing, powerful things are available now that we wouldn't have dreamed of years ago - and in very small packages. I've owned or used lights by Maglite, Surefire, Pelican, NEBO, and a slew of others. Klarus is now here, and they have got their act together, believe it.Now, the Klarus XT11: I have to say my first impression of this light is very very good. It appears finely made, and is without a doubt the brightest light for the money I've seen or used yet. It is absolutely WICKED and will turn night into day in a localized area. Three brightness modes are great, around the house i use low or mid at most, the full 600 lumens is outdoor only. The strobe is a good personal defense tool. DO NOT look into the light directly, i made that mistake and saw spots for about 10 minutes, yes it REALLY is THAT bright. |
